Construction Services (BCS) provides environmental consulting,
biological resources management, and regulatory compliance services
for infrastructure, utilities, renewable energy, transportation,
and other development projects throughout Southern California. Our
multidisciplinary teams support projects from early planning
through construction by delivering high-quality biological services
that meet regulatory requirements and client objectives. We are
seeking an experienced Biology Project Manager to lead complex
environmental and biological resources consulting projects while
managing client relationships, budgets, schedules, and
multidisciplinary teams. This role is ideal for a senior-level
professional who combines strong technical expertise with a
“seller-doer” mindset and thrives in a fast-paced consulting
environment. This is a hybrid position that combines office-based
work with field presence and travel to project sites throughout
California's Central Valley. Position Summary The Biology Project
Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of
biological resources and environmental compliance for various
infrastructure and construction projects. This position is
responsible for managing project scope, budget, schedule, and
financial performance while serving as a trusted advisor to clients
and regulatory agencies. In addition to project delivery, the
Biology Project Manager will lead, mentor, and develop a team of
biologists, fostering accountability, technical excellence, and
career growth. This position works closely with the Principal
Manager of Bancroft’s Biological Resources group and requires
effective communication skills and technical acumen of local,
state, and federal laws and regulations protecting biological
resources. Duties & Responsibilities Assist clients in navigating
the planning and permitting requirements related to biological
resources, including developing solutions that protect and preserve
the environment that lead to receiving project approvals. Plan,
manage, and oversee complex biological resources, environmental
compliance, and construction monitoring projects from initiation
through closeout Own project scope, budgets, schedules, and
margins; ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
Serve as the primary client relationship manager, guiding and
consulting clients throughout the project lifecycle Actively
support business development by opening industry doors, identifying
new opportunities, and expanding existing client accounts Direct
client strategy, communication, and long-term account growth
Provide technical leadership in biological resources, permitting,
regulatory compliance, and construction monitoring Participate in
and oversee biological fieldwork and compliance monitoring as
needed to support project execution and quality Lead, mentor, and
manage a team of biologists, including workload planning,
accountability, performance management, and career development
Anticipate project risks, scope changes, and regulatory challenges;
proactively develop and implement solutions Coordinate with
internal teams, clients, agencies, contractors, and subconsultants
Oversee preparation and review of technical reports, biological
assessments, monitoring reports, permit applications, and
compliance documentation Support proposal development, cost
estimating, scopes of work, and client presentations Operate
effectively within an entrepreneurial environment, utilizing
defined roles, scorecards, and accountability tools Perform other
duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s or
Master’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a
closely related field 8–12 years of experience in biological
consulting Demonstrated experience managing complex projects,
including scope, budget, schedule, and financial performance Proven
ability to lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary teams Strong
technical background in biological resources of California's
Central Valley, environmental permitting, and regulatory compliance
Familiarity with CEQA, NEPA, CWA, CESA, FESA, and related
environmental regulations Experience serving as a trusted client
relationship manager with a track record of repeat work, including
leading clients through the environmental and permitting process of
a project Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
Ability and willingness to travel to project sites as required Work
Environment This is a hybrid position involving both office-based
work and field activities and may include: Travel to project sites
throughout Central Valley California Outdoor fieldwork in variable
weather conditions and terrain Coordination with field teams
conducting biological surveys and monitoring. Occasional long or
irregular hours to meet project demandsCandidates must be able to
safely perform occasional site visits and field coordination
duties. Compensation & Employment Status Employment Type: Full-Time
/ Hybrid Compensation: $105-115K/annually Benefits: Eligible for
