GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTIONThe Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will beresponsible for developing and maintain accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate andtimely financial statements. The Accounting Manager supervises the Accounting department and is responsiblefor managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledgerpreparation, financial reporting, year end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.2. Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.3. Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.4. Oversees all ongoing banking requirements.5. Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions.6. Ensure the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.7. Supports budget and forecasting activities.8. Collaborates with accounting staff to support overall department goals and objectives.9. Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources whilemaintaining a high level of accuracy.10. Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.11. Collaborates with Tribal Finance department regarding financial results, special reporting requests, wiretransfer and etc.12. Ensure a clean and timely year end audit.13. Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.14. Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of thedepartment.15. Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.16. Handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, and etc.17. Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year monitor and advise on theprogress to enhance the professional development of staff.18. Support Chief Executive Officer with special projects and workflow process improvements.19. Oversee the process purchase requisitions, review the accounting codes for accuracy, and ensure that alldocumentation is available.20. Monitor purchase orders with invoices to ensure that all requests were purchased21. Oversee the maintaining of vendor files and update all address files for those with whom TREDC doesbusiness with.22. Oversee the proper workflow is being accomplished by counting cash; scheduling and preparingdisbursements; obtaining authorization for payment; posting payments to journal entries.23. Oversee and support Payroll functions for the course by processing as directed.24. Oversee and assist with the payment of invoices by verifying transaction information; scheduling andpreparing disbursements; obtaining authorization for payment; posting payments to journal entries.25. Assist staff when needed by answering phone calls, resolving account questions.26. Assist staff when needed to collect revenue by following up with delinquent accounts as time allows.27. Assist staff when needed with effectively researching, tracking, and resolving (or properly referring)accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.28. Oversee and assist staff on maintaining office supply stock by completing supply order.29. Maintain a strong communication relationship with Chief Executive Officer and management team of areaactivities and of any significant problems.30. Attends and participates in meetings as required.31. Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.32. Completes special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required.33. Perform basic math skills, use decimals to compute ratios and percents, and interpret graphs.34. Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.35. Ability to communicate professionally with members, co-workers and management.36. Ability to operate basic office equipment such as: personal computer, copier, fax and phone.37. All other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:1. BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, CPA Preferred2. Five to seven years prior supervisory experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area.3. Experience working in a professional services firm preferred.4. Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast pace setting and maintain accuracy.5. Advanced experience with QuickBooks enterprise solutions accounting system required.6. Familiarize with Paylocity Payroll system preferred.7. Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word.8. Ten key by touch required.9. Six-Eight years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.10. Must complete and pass pre-employment drug & alcohol screen.11. Must complete and pass pre-employment background.12. MustpossessandmaintainavalidCaliforniaDriver'sLicense and be insurable through TREDC InsuranceCompany throughout employment as Accounting Manager.13. Must have strong customer service skills.14. Mathematical accuracy is required. Must maintain a thorough understating of Federal andstate IRS regulations and how they apply to TREDC and its businesses.15. Must possess excellent communication, attention to detail and decision-making skills.16. Must be effective in time management and ability to multitask.17. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced, changing and challenging environment.18. Must have experience with the ADP/POS systems.19. Must maintain accurate data entry and record keeping.20. Must be proficient in accurate cash management and inventory control.21. Must be proficient with budget-management skills.22. Must possess analytical skills to forecast and identify trends and challenges.23. Must possess outstanding customer service skills, a problem-solving attitude, and attention todetail, strong interpersonal and management abilities, and solid administrative/clerical and timemanagement skills.24. Ability to follow established policies and procedures, contributes to the development ofnew concepts, policies and procedures as necessary to perform job duties and tasks.25. Ability to effectively establish priorities and meet deadlines.26. Ability to quickly evaluate alternatives and decide on a plan of action.27. WORKING CONDITIONS:Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squattingand stooping in the performance of daily activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movementand fine coordination in preparing reports using a computer keyboard. Additionally the position requires near and far vision in proofreading correspondence and work related documents. Acute hearing is required when providing phone assistance.
