Staff Today, a HAN Division, is currently seeking a -Respiratory Care Practitioner -to work at a facility in -Porterville -,California. -These are -registry -positions with our company Staff Today.

Pay Rate: $48 -/ hour

Shift -Schedule: 12 hour shifts

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Under the direction of the Respiratory Care Supervisor, administers various types of prescribed respiratory treatments and respiratory care to patients from/in the community according to accepted Respiratory Care procedure. Must hold and maintain a current California license for Respiratory Care Practitioner. Maintain current BLS (CPR) and ACLS certifications.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None- may act as lead if designated.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Directly supervised by the Supervising Respiratory Care Practitioner, Lab Director and Medical Director. Also, under the direction of the Assistant to the Medical Director.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must possess and maintain sufficient strength (lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance), agility, endurance and sensory ability to perform the duties contained in this duty statement.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: On-going interaction with patients from/in the community and community care staff. Potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinical nursing environment. Position requires traveling extensively throughout the area to assess patients or train community care staff.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:


  • 25% Administer respiratory care procedures as prescribed by the primary care provider. Makes interpretive patient judgment as required.
  • 10% Cleans and maintains respiratory equipment.
  • 5% Maintains accurate records on treatments and procedures.
  • 5% Participates in Quality Assurance activities. Instructs patients and staff as indicated in the use of respiratory equipment and respiratory care.
  • 5% Attends and participates in training as required.
  • 10% Maintains a safe, sanitary, and therapeutic environment which promotes respect and dignity for patients and protects the privacy, rights, confidentiality, and physical/emotional well-being of patients.
  • 5% Works extended hours and/or varying shifts.

    TYPICAL TASKS:


    • 15% Works with patients from/in the community requiring various levels of care to provide
    • respiratory support and general care.
    • Participates as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team in all aspects of the development and implementation of the Individual Program Plan.
    • 5% May be assigned in-service responsibilities to provide training to community care staff.
    • 5% Keeps primary care provider and community care staff updated with new equipment, medications and new concepts.
    • 10% Approval to drive state car or van to be able to provide services in the community and carry supplies in a state vehicle.
