Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and
Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours
(07:00 - 19:30) Experience: Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery
experience required or completion of extended orientation meeting
all expectations. License: Current State License as a Registered
Nurse required Certifications: BLS upon hire and ongoing Must-Have:
- Fetal monitoring certification - Ability to care for Antepartum,
Intrapartum, Postpartum patients, stable newborns, and
stabilization for transport of sick neonates. - Must be comfortable
stabilizing infants - Interpersonal skills necessary to instruct
and comfort patients/families - Basic computer knowledge including
Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word Description: The RN renders
collaborative nursing care via the defined department method of
practice. The RN is assigned a caseload of patients for an assigned
shift in accordance with the treatment plan of the medical staff
practitioner. Nursing care is delivered in alignment with nursing
standards of care/practice and the professional code of ethics. The
RN is committed to promoting the health potential of the patient
(body, mind, and spirit). The position requires the demonstration
of the ability to delegate and direct staff in the coordination and
delivery of care. The RN assumes responsibility for the appropriate
utilization of care resources. The RN demonstrates positive
interpersonal relationships with others in problem resolution.
Sensitivity to the needs of patients, families, and fellow
employees is essential. Job relationships include reporting
directly to the Perinatal Nurse Manager. Collaboration with all
members of the healthcare team in the coordination of patient care
is required. The position involves exposure to blood, body fluids,
or tissues. The age of the patient population includes neonates
(birth to 27 days), pediatrics (28 days to 13 years), adults (13 to
65 years), and geriatrics (65 years and older). The RN must
demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development
across the lifespan of patients and families. It is expected to
