Shift: Variable 8 hour shifts Must have 1 years of work experience
as a Radiologic Tech. Job Description: PATIENT POPULATION: The
patient population served can be all patients, including geriatric,
adult, adolescent, pediatric, and newborn. This also includes
services which affect facility staff, physicians, visitors, vendors
and the general public. POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of
the Administrative Director of Imaging and Physical Therapy,
Radiology Director, and in consultation with the Medical Director,
the Radiology Tech performs professional duties involved in a
variety of technical procedures to apply prescribed ionizing
radiation for Radiologic diagnosis, with latitude for independent
judgment, ingenuity and initiative. Responsible for patient care,
comfort and completion of required procedures. Is responsible for
the assessment, treatment or care appropriate to the ages of the
patients served. Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret
information in terms of the patient’s needs. Possesses knowledge of
growth and development and has an understanding of the range of
treatment needed for all patient groups. Must maintain the
department in compliance with rules and regulations set forth by
governing agencies. Responsible for various clerical and Quality
Assurance duties as assigned. May be assigned to work in other
Imaging modalities. Must follow AIDET and accepts reassignments and
additional duties, when necessary, in a flexible and positive
manner. Must maintain the department in compliance with rules and

responsibilities required. If Technologist is trained in multiple
modalities, (C.T., M.R.I., Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Diagnostic
Radiology), on call responsibilities will be assumed for two (2) of
the aforementioned modalities during the call period. Example:
(Ultrasound/Nuclear medicine or C.T./Radiography). Must be able to
work normal/scheduled working hours to include Holidays,
call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call. Agrees to
participate, as directed, in emergencies and community disasters
during scheduled and unscheduled hours. As a designated disaster
service worker you are required to assist in times of need pursuant
to the California Emergency Services Act. (Gov’t. Code §§ 3100,
3102) Needs to recognize that they have an affirmative duty and

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: To perform this job successfully, an
individual must be able to perform each essential duty

experience as a Radiologic Tech. Ability to read and interpret
documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine
reports and correspondence if required. Ability to calculate
figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions,
proportions, and percentages if required. Ability to apply common
sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written,
oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving
several concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be
capable of dealing effectively and ethically with co-workers,
physicians, and other Hospital personnel. To perform this job
successfully, an individual should have basic computer skills.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an
individual must have and maintain: 1. Current licensure as a
Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist in the state of California. 2.
Fluoroscopy Permit from the state of California or obtain one
within 6 months of date of hire. 3. The individual must have ARRT
certification in Radiography or obtain ARRT certification in
Radiography within 6 months of date of hire. 4. Must have and
maintain current BLS certification or obtain within orientation
process, prior to hands-on patient care. 5. IV certification is
preferred. Responsibilities and Essential Functions: *Indicates
Essential Function 1 * Performs Diagnostic Radiographic procedures
using prescribed positions, technical factors and immobilization
devices, as required, and is responsible for the quality of the
images. 2 * Selects, operates and maintains equipment as directed
and provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed
safety standards. 3 Assists in instruction of Radiologic Technology
students in respective areas. 4 * Responsible for delegated areas
in the assignment of routine procedures. 5 May assist in the
development of examination routines and techniques. 6 * Maintains
adequate records as directed and is responsible for maintaining a
clean and neat work area. 7 * Performs basic equipment function
checks at the beginning of each shift. 8 * Maintains an average of
no more than 2-3 errors and in the Computed Radiology System 2-3
errors=4. 9 * Completes all exams in Meditech and Synapse P.A.C.S.
software. Ensures that all documents are scanned, as necessary, and
that all notes for the patient encounter are typed into the Synapse
P.A.C.S. "Note Section". 10 * Accepts reassignment and additional
duties, when necessary, in a flexible and positive manner. 11 *
Follows AIDET 12 * Ensures that images are available within the
Synapse P.A.C.S. system after exam has been completed and "sent".
13 * Notifies on radiologist of exams requiring STAT readings
during and after normal business hours. Sends exams requiring
Teleradiology reads in a timely manner to Teleradiology Company.
Scan retunred reports to Teleradioligy System.
