Full-Time | Physician – Hospital Medicine Overview A
well-established hospitalist group in Bakersfield, CA is seeking a
full-time Nocturnist to join their team covering local hospitals.
This role offers 12-hour night shifts (in-house 9 hours, paid for
full 12) , minimal admissions, no procedures, and strong specialty
backup , making it ideal for Internal Medicine-trained physicians
who enjoy hospitalist medicine with predictable night shifts .
Position Highlights Full-time night shifts : alternate schedules (8
PM–5 AM or 10 PM–7 AM) No procedures and no code blue
responsibility (ICU manages emergencies) Work closely with 24/7
in-house intensivists and specialty physicians Cross-cover floor
calls on alternating nights Handover patient care to intensivist
after admission Internal Medicine residency program starting soon;
night float program coming next year Candidate Requirements MD/DO
with Board Eligibility or Board Certification in Internal Medicine
Eligible for California medical license (or ability to obtain)
Comfortable managing hospitalist patients at night Excellent
clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication skills Compensation
