Job Description:
Pacific Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Come join our
team and start making a difference! Pay Range: $37.00 - $40.00/hr
Assists the Assistant Director of Nursing Services in managing and
directing the Nursing Services Department. Provides direct nursing
care as necessary. Makes rounds to ensure that nursing personnel
perform their work assignments in accordance with acceptable
nursing standards. Makes rounds with physicians as necessary.
Communicates information to nursing personnel regarding new
resident admissions and resident discharges and provides oversight
of the admission and discharge process. Reviews nursing personnel
medical record documentation to ensure that it is appropriately and
accurately descriptive of the nursing care provided. Contributes to
the development and maintenance of written nursing policies and
procedures. Provides written and oral reports/recommendations to
the Director of Nursing Services and Administrator, as
necessary/required, concerning the operation of the nursing
services department. Prepares for and participates in facility
surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies.
Supports the Quality Assessment & Assurance Committee in developing
and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified
deficiencies. Evaluates and implements recommendations from
established committees as they may pertain to nursing services.
Delegate to each Charge Nurse the administrative authority,
responsibility, and accountability necessary to perform his/her
assigned duties. Ensure that all nurse aid trainees are under the
direct supervision of a licensed nurse. Make daily rounds of the
nursing service department to ensure that all nursing service
personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with
acceptable nursing standards. Report findings to the Director.
Consult with the resident, his/her family, and the resident’s
physician in planning the resident’s care, treatment,
rehabilitation, etc., as necessary. Notify the resident’s attending
physician and next of kin when there is a change in the resident’s
condition. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an
individual must be able to perform each essential duty

essential functions. Education and/or Experience: High School
Diploma or equivalent Must have, as a minimum, 1 year of experience
as a Registered Nurse in a hospital, long-term care facility, or
other related health care facility. Certificates and Licenses: Must
possess an active license to practice as a Registered Nurse license
valid in this state. Other Specific Requirements Must be able to
read, write, speak and understand the English language. Must
possess the ability to make independent decision when circumstances
warrant such action. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully
with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government
agencies/personnel, and the general public. Must be knowledgeable
of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws,
regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care. Must
possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to
work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel. Must have
patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as
the willingness to handle difficult residents. For benefit details
