Minimum of one year recent acute care Registered Nurse experience in Ambulatory Surgery required for Per Diem position. Pre-op, post-op and cataract experience required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must have and maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of California. Must have one year of experience in an acute care setting. Must have and maintain current BLS certification or obtain within orientation process, prior to hands-on patient care. Must have and maintain ACLS & PALS cards or obtain within six (6) months of assignment to department. With minimal supervision, the Perioperative R.N. plans, prepares and provides individualized perioperative care by using the nursing process. Employees supervised include L.V.N.s., ORTs. and Schedulers. Responsible for the equipment, supplies and inventory of the department necessary for the care of our patients. Handles confidential information regarding patient records, department and hospital activities. Requires little supervision. Makes daily nursing judgments and moderate to hard decisions involving interpretation of general policy and procedure. Has some input into budget regarding equipment. Inter-relates with other department personnel on a daily basis. Takes care of patients from age pediatric to geriatric. Performs all work with accord to the mission, vision and values of Sierra View Medical Center. Must be able to work normal/scheduled working hours to include Holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call. Agrees to participate, as directed, in emergencies and community disasters during scheduled and unscheduled hours. This position has variable hours. Must have open availability including nights.
