Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, an operating company of Danaher Corporation, is recruiting a Microbiology Sales Representative / Capital Equipment Consultant. This position is based in Southern California.

We are looking for a Sales Representative / Capital Equipment Consultant (CEC) who knows how to work with a team-based sales strategyfor both new and existing customers. Our new CEC will own, maintain and develop relationships with customers at all levels and use inhouse subject matter experts to deliver a total solution to meet the needs of the customer.

As our new Capital Equipment Consultant, your goal will be to accurately anticipate the needs of customers and execute on a sales strategy to help us become the technical vendor of choice.

You will use your experience in laboratory workflow to effectively position our Microbiology solutions (hardware, reagents, systems and applications) into hospitals and reference laboratories. You will drive and own core growth by both footprint expansion and retaining and growing base business.

Call on accounts in your sales territory as well as prioritize sales activities in the accounts in an active sales cycle (existing and competitive) to position Beckman Coulter solutions to meet customer needs.

Own an account plan as well prepare and execute business reviews

Implement the sales plan designed to achieve established sales and financial goals.

Through proven market and competitive knowledge, develop and execute creative strategies to influence the decision criteria and utilize winning tactics to close the sale.

Effectively link Beckman Coulters Microbiology solutions to the customers technical, financial and business needs.

Strategically use internal and external resources including Service, Applications, Field Product Specialists, Leadership and Client Services to build and execute agreed upon strategy.

Follow through quickly and thoroughly on agreed upon actions with customer to advance the sale.

Bachelors degree required (preferably in sciences)

5+ Years experience in capital equipment, laboratory or medical device sales in a hospital or laboratory setting required or 5+ years direct experience as a Microbiology Medical Technologist or 5+ years combination of relevant sales and microbiology technologist experience.

Proven understanding of tactical sales skills: prospecting, qualifying, closing, and growing existing customers; we strongly prefer this experience in laboratory diagnostics

Strong executive presence, communication and presentation skills; demonstrated ability to clearly, concisely and accurately conduct a technical presentation

Highly organized with strong program and sales management skills

Strong ability to handle an account plan weekly, work diligently within the sales cycle activities, prepare for and deliver business reviews effectively (both with customers and internally)

Must be willing to travel 30 - 50% of the time, which may include some overnight travel
